RARA: Motorcycle Assistant

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how RARA handles account, location, ride safety, voice, and community data. RARA is a motorcycle safety assistant, so privacy decisions prioritize rider trust and safety.

Last updated: April 24, 2026

Information RARA Collects

  • Account information such as email address, display name, and user ID when you sign in.
  • Rider profile and preference information such as bike type, mount type, ride settings, emergency contact, and app preferences.
  • Precise location while using ride, safety, weather, heatmap, route, event, or SOS features.
  • Ride records such as ride summaries, route points, timestamps, distance, duration, and safety events you submit or trigger.
  • Community content such as posts, comments, friend requests, and external chat links you choose to share.
  • Voice input when you use Fox voice features. RARA does not intentionally store raw audio, but Apple Speech recognition may process audio because the current implementation does not require on-device-only recognition.

How RARA Uses Information

  • To provide core app functionality such as sign-in, profile sync, ride tracking, route planning, weather context, and ride summaries.
  • To support safety features including danger-zone warnings, near-miss reports, crash countdowns, and SOS escalation flows.
  • To build de-identified safety signals such as risk zones and heatmap data that help riders understand hazardous areas.
  • To operate community features such as feed posts, replies, friend requests, and coordination links.
  • To debug reliability issues and protect against abuse, especially for safety-critical flows such as SOS triggering.

Location, Motion, and Safety Data

  • Location is required for the main safety value of RARA: showing nearby risk, recording ride routes, loading weather context, and sending the latest known location during an SOS flow.
  • Motion data is used for crash and near-miss detection. RARA does not store raw continuous motion samples in the MVP; derived safety events may be stored when they are needed for ride history or safety reporting.
  • Emergency contact information is used for safety escalation only. Current backend behavior may log SOS trigger attempts and delivery status.

Storage and Retention

  • Account profiles, ride summaries, route points, user-submitted events, community content, and SOS records may be stored in RARA backend systems through Clerk and Convex.
  • On-device storage may hold onboarding state, preferences, pending offline sync operations, live crash countdown state, and transient speech or motion processing state.
  • Pending offline operations are kept only until they sync successfully or are cleared through sign-out, app data deletion, or account deletion handling.
  • SOS trigger logs are retained for up to 90 days for abuse prevention, debugging, and safety audit needs unless legal requirements change.
  • User-linked safety events may be de-identified after account deletion while preserving aggregate safety value for other riders.

Sharing and Third Parties

  • RARA uses Clerk for authentication and Convex for backend data storage and realtime app functionality.
  • RARA uses Apple platform services such as MapKit, WeatherKit, CoreLocation, CoreMotion, and Apple Speech where relevant to app features.
  • Community content you post may be visible to other users depending on the selected feed, post, or coordination feature.
  • RARA does not sell personal information and does not use collected data to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Your Choices

  • You can control system permissions such as location, microphone, speech recognition, notifications, and motion access in iOS Settings.
  • You can clear or update emergency contact and profile information in the app where those controls are available.
  • Before public launch, RARA should provide either an in-app account deletion path or a documented support-request deletion path.
  • Account export should include profile fields, emergency contact fields, ride summaries, route points, user-submitted events, SOS trigger records, and community content authored by the user when those records exist.

Children

  • RARA is not intended for children. Do not use RARA if you are not old enough to operate or participate in motorcycle riding activities under applicable laws and safety requirements.

Changes

  • This policy may be updated as RARA changes. Material changes should be reflected in this page and in App Store privacy answers before a new public release.
